Two Chicago women badly hurt during boating mishap in ‘Playpen’ of Lake Michigan

A report said that two women sustained serious injuries in a boating accident at Lake Michigan’s popular section on Sunday.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. in a part of the lake called the “Playpen,” north of Navy Pier, the Chicago Tribune reported, citing the Chicago Fire Department.

Two women were on a boat when the boat crashed into them.

According to NBC Chicago the boat tried to set anchor but failed and began to drift.

The captain tried to maneuver it but the boat crashed into an adjacent raft.

According to WLS affiliate ABC, the hospitalized victims included a woman aged 34 from Chicago and a woman aged 28 from Washington.

They were rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and listed as in serious condition.
