Alex Murdaugh trial suspended, court evacuated amid bomb threat
The homicide trial of disgraced South Carolina legal professional Alex Murdaugh was paused Wednesday after a bomb menace was made to the court docket.
South Carolina Legislation Enforcement Division (SLED) confirmed the menace to Fox Information, saying the the menacing message was “obtained by Colleton County courthouse personnel.”
It isn’t clear what the message mentioned.
The trial was paused till 2:30, and SLED mentioned it’s investigating the menace alongside the Colleton County Sheriff’s Workplace.
Murdaugh is on trial for the double homicide of his spouse Maggie and son Paul, who had been discovered shot to dying by the canine kennel on the household’s searching lodge in 2021.
Murdaugh, who’s individually accused of 99 monetary crimes, has repeatedly insisted he’s harmless.
