The series, originally written by George R.R. This series was produced by HBO and originally written by George R.R. Martin. It has had a profound influence on pop culture and entertainment around the world. This epic story is set in medieval fantasy and focuses on the dangerous game of power that it takes to control the Iron Throne, which rules the Seven Kingdoms.
It was created by showrunners David Benioff, D. B. Weiss and stars an ensemble cast that includes Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington, Lena Headey and Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner and Nikolaj Coster–Waldau. With many new spin-offs in the works, including “House of the Dragon” and “SNOW,” fans of the franchise have much to look forward to.
We were introduced to many amazing characters over the eight seasons. To understand the complex series, in honor of the new HBO Max original series “House of the Dragon,” the New York Post spoke exclusively with two of the rising voices in American geekdom: Paul Florez-Taylor—known as the Comic King—and Luke James —known as Pop Media Maven. We came together as a team to create the definitive list combining astrology with the zodiac.
ARIES (MARCH 21 – APRIL 19): Daenerys Targaryen
Daenerys, the Aries zodiac sign, is one of the main characters in the original series. With her fiery temperament and fierce drive for conquest, she leads with her heart. She conquers the battlefield of all life, not being afraid to rise to power or command her armies. Not only did she have a vision for the future of her kingdom–regardless of how that turned out–she held a spark of a visionary within her. She takes what she wants–and so often got it.
TAURUS (APRIL 20 – MAY 20): Jaime Lannister
Jaime Lannister, a stubborn and loyal Taurus, is a fan favorite of the franchise. He is dedicated to what and who he loves, even if it means he will end up in ruin. He has the work ethic and strategy to win over the long-term. Jaime is just like a Taurus. He is driven by his heart, his desire to love and his hunger for a kingdom.
GEMINI (MAY 21 – JUNE 20): Arya Stark
Geminis are known for having many faces, as symbolized by the Twins. Arya is a Gemini because of this. Through the series, she shows that she is adaptable, flexible, cunning, and logical. She can use her mind and words to get the results she desires, which is another sign of how skilled and versatile she is. She is a true sojourner, always looking for wisdom and experiences.
CANCER (JUNE 21 – JULY 22): Jon Snow
Jon Snow’s devotion to his chosen family is a key theme throughout the original series. He is loyal to the Starks but he also shows he can be a strong leader for the wildlings in their quest to protect their lands, and legacy. Jon is a Cancer with a sweet and sensitive soul, which is one of the most important aspects of his character. Just like this Water sign, he is often moody and deep in his emotions, doing his best to keep most people at an arm’s-length distance outside of his shell.
LEO (JULY 23 – AUGUST 22): Brienne of Tarth
Brienne of Tarth, one of the true defenders honor and integrity, embodies all that is good about Leo, including the pride and strength. She is a knight and brings power and confidence to those she loves. He has been praised and respected for his great skills and talents. But it is her unending courage, romantic heart, and passion that truly align her with the passionate Fire sign.
VIRGO (AUGUST 23 – SEPTMEBER 22): Samwell Tarly
Samwell Tarly, a true student of life and Virgo, is the perfect example of Virgo. He is a service-oriented, intelligent, and detail-focused Earth sign. He has amazing organizational skills and can amass a lot of knowledge to heal, assist, and lead others. These qualities make him an exceptional leader.
LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 – OCTOBER 22): Sansa Stark
Libras, out of all the zodiac sign signs, are well-known for their intellectual charm and grace when understanding politics and how to connect to other people. These traits are evident in Sansa Stark. Even in her darkest moments, she has an incredible sense of elegance. She is adaptable, strategic, and constantly uses her mind, beauty, and brain to outmaneuver and outwit the adversaries. She is also aligned with the Air sign because of her natural sense of balance, which she develops as she ages.
SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 21): Cersei Lannister
Cersei Lannister is a Scorpio zodiac sign. She is fierce, powerful, and cunning. She is a strategist with a magnetic, sexual nature. She can seduce anyone in the series, and she will always get her way. Despite many thinking she is the ultimate antagonist in the series, Cersei is not innately evil–although she will stop at nothing to get what she desires. This Water sign aligns her with her fury and desire for power and revenge after she is wronged.
SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 – DECEMBER 21): Tormund Giantsbane
Tormund Giantsbane, a man well-known for his insatiable desire for freedom and independence, cannot be contained or caged. He is also known for his fiery temperament. This is characteristic of both the Sagittarius zodiac sign and the free folk. He is always open to adventure and refuses settling. As he develops throughout the series, his desire for new experiences and interactions will continue to expand his view of life.
CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 – JANUARY 19): The Night King
Capricorns, a zodiac sign ruled icy Saturn and known for their ambitious natures align well with the Night King. The Night King is the leader of White Walkers and has a vision of his future. He also knows the long game of how to get there. His natural desire to conquer and long-term glory give him the strength and perseverance to win, even when faced with the power of dragons and armies. He is often seen as an antagonist in the series but he is more like a Capricorn who sets their mind to a goal.
AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18): Bran Stark
Bran Stark is a visionary who has a unique perspective on life. Bran Stark uses his unique talents and abilities throughout the series to see into the future and create a plan for how he can make the world a better place. He is also known for his emotional distance from life and others. This is another characteristic of Aquarius, the zodiac sign. He is logical and tries his best to lead.
PISCES (FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20): Melisandre
Melisandre, one the most mysterious characters from the original franchise, is a powerful and powerful sorceress who seeks out the spiritual realm to manifest her dreams. As she prepares for the next step, her supernatural abilities and immense wisdom allow her to live the fullness and experience of life. These qualities are also found in Pisces, a zodiac sign that has a deep connection to the universe at a soul level.
