Giant lizard scales Florida home window: ‘Looks like Godzilla’

A large lizard described as “Godzilla” just lately visited a house in Florida and was caught on video making an attempt to climb up a window.

Video of what seemed to be a Savannah monitor lizard was taken from inside a house in Apopka, a metropolis exterior of Orlando, and shared earlier this month on Fb.

“OMG! Take a look at this!” Jocelyn Penson wrote, including that uninvited visitor popped up at her son’s residence. “For sure I received’t be visiting him any time quickly!”

Penson mentioned that the reptile was a monitor lizard, however added that it “seems like Godzilla to me!”

The Savannah monitor lizard shouldn’t be native to Florida, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee (FWC) mentioned. 

The lizards are native to sub-Saharan Africa.

Specialists consider that the populations of assorted species of monitor lizard in Florida come from pet homeowners who may not care for his or her unique pets and launched them into the wild, based on the FWC. Others could have escaped from amenities destroyed in hurricanes.
