Uber Eats driver says he made $0.37 for four hours of work

Uber Eats driver became viral after he claimed that he made $0.37 for just four hours of work.

Insider was told by the driver that he made $30.97 in eight deliveries and then had to top up his tank for $30.60.

The courier’s account went viral on the Reddit page r/antiwork, where people post about suffering in the workplace. His post was retweeted almost 20,000 times.

The driver in Texas said that only three of the eight customers he had tipped had tipped him.

Now, he quit driving for Uber after only a few shifts, saying it’s not worth it.

“I hope maybe some other people can save their time and money not falling for Uber Eats,” he told Insider.

“And accounting for my car’s depreciation, it cost me money to drive for Uber Eats,” he wrote in his Reddit post.

Uber told The Post this driver’s experience is not common.

“While earnings can vary based on demand and other factors, the experience described here is not typical. Thousands of people choose to partner with Uber Eats to earn extra money flexibly,” spokesperson Alix Anfang said in a statement.
