People who solve this optical illusion can outsmart the ocean

Sea creatures must often hide to survive in the ocean, creating nature’s optical illusion: camouflage.

[Warning: Spoilers below]

A snap underwater of a tiny seahorse makes people question their eyesight. Its pink, knobby exterior hides easily amongst the coral with similar textures.

The image appears to show a light pink colored coral — but only when you look closely can the seahorse be spotted swimming along the reef.

The seahorse is of the pygmy variety, which live up to 130-feet below the water’s surface, and only grow up to about one inch. Their rough skin allows them to blend well with corals found on the East Coast of Southeast Asia in the region known as The Coral Triangle.

It is hard to spot the pygmy Seahorse due to its natural protection.
