Elvis’ ‘lost’ jewelry found, will be sold at auction

Experts and historians of Elvis Presley know for a long time about the collection of jewelry that the singer gave Colonel Tom Parker.

Both collectors and enthusiasts have spent decades looking for the items. Brigitte Kruse, founder and CEO, GWS Auctions, found the pieces and put them together.

On August 27, two hundred items will be up for auction, including gold rings with jewels, cufflinks and watches, as well as cufflinks and chains. Also included is the guitar played by Presley during his famous “comeback” TV special of 1968.

Presley’s former wife Priscilla worked with Kruse on the collection, although Priscilla does not own any of the pieces.

“Well, it brings back memories for sure,” Priscilla Presley told Reuters.

She said that Parker’s manager had all the jewelry he needed, and that Parker was always buying or commissioning jewelry from her. The Presleys didn’t know what to buy.

Priscilla Presley said she felt protective of the items because she designed some of them, including artifacts with the logo for TCB Band, the musicians who formed the core rhythm section of Presley’s backing band in his later years. “TCB” stood for “taking care of business,” a favorite expression of Presley’s.

Priscilla presley supported the auction partly because she was tired seeing so many fake Elvis artifacts up for sale.
