John Travolta, celebrities react to Olivia Newton-John’s death

“Grease” star Olivia Newton-John died Monday morning surrounded by family and friends at her Southern California ranch following a long battle with cancer.

“Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer,” her family wrote in a statement posted on her official Facebook page.

“Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.”

Upon her death, her family is asking that people donate to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund instead of sending flowers.

The last photo seen of the actress was posted by her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, on Instagram on Aug 5.

“I worship this woman. My mother. My best friend,” Lattanzi wrote.

Quickly after the news broke on Monday, John’s “Grease” co-star John Travolta made a statement on his Instagram.

“Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John,” Travolta concluded.

“Good Morning America” anchor Robin Roberts, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007, shared her condolences to the “brave” Newton-John.

“Very sad news,” she wrote. “Great admiration for how she bravely faced breast cancer. Condolences to her loving family and friends.”

This story will be updated as more reactions come in.
